Replacement Biotronik home monitor

Good evening to all - I was contacted today by my PM clinic to appear next week to bring my 4-year-old Biotronik home monitor in for a replacement - is anybody else getting the same instructions?  I don't know if this is an upgrade or essentially an equal replacement due to findings of problems.

Gasps and falling backwards

I received a pacemaker in September 2021.  I was diagnosed with tachycardia and bradycardia.  It scares my husband because I seem to have involuntary intakes of breath like gasps followed by an audible sigh and then also I sometimes start to go backwards.  Has anyone else had these problems?

Newby

Your story sounds exactly like mine. I too was a healthy 60 year old female. I exercised ate well and took care of my health. My diagnosis came on suddenly too. I went to ER was admitted and the next day I was having a pacemaker put in for heart block. This was 3 months ago. I am adjusting and feel blessed to have been given a second chance on life. I am back to work and have been walking and taking my yoga classes.

You too will be back to normal soon😊

Kardia home EKG, missing P-wave, and my PM

Like many of you (I assume), I have one of those mini-EKG units from Kardia with which one can do a primative EKG at home (essentially a rhythm trace). I had an ablation in the right atrium to stop flutter, but then I immediately developed SSS. At that point a PM was installed which paces my right atrium at ~100%. Before those procedures, I could see the P-wave, the QRS complex, and the T-wave on the Kardia traces. Now with my PM doing 100% of the pacing, I no lo...

Symptomatic left bundle branch block

I am wondering if there is anyone else that exists with symptomatic left bundle branch block without other heart conditions. I am a 30 year old mom of 2 and have been told my only option after failed medications to treat my debilitating daily symptoms is a pacemaker. I'm excited to think I may be able to function as "normal" again and do normal every day activities but also terrified because this seems like such an unknown condition.

Mother Nature keeps looking for new ways to kill us

I have recently entered my seventh decade. Generally in good health despite Volta, my new replacement pacemaker, installed just before Christmas 2020.Until now, I thought that my heart was eventually going to get me. Maybe, maybe not. In early December, I had a biopsy. It turned out positive for prostate cancer. Things went quite rapidly after that. I underwent curietherapy (also know as brachytherapy or low dose radiation therapy) on Februray 1. Prognosis is good.  That...

Ongoing Dizziness

Hi!

I have a constant dizziness (swaying) going on, except when lying. My cardiologst says he doesn't think it's from the arythmia which I also have the whole day, lots of extra beats and I have a AV Block 2 Grade, Tachycardia now and then but nothing serious so far.  I have an ICD wih PM so the PM kicks in when there are pauses, but since getting the ICD/PM last summer I haven't noticed any difference in the dizziness.

Does anyone else have dizziness i...

First pacemaker

Hi everyone Iv just joined and I'm really glad to have found this website. I'm a 40 year old man who always exercised regularly. I didn't even no I needed a pacemaker until I was getting other checks done. I had a low heart rate and while sleeping had some heart pauses. I had no symptoms that there was a problem. Well after getting the shock to say I need one. It's in now 3 months and Iv recently went back to running and a few hours after exercise my heart rate drops to 3...

Device Recall...

Just did a search online and it turns out my device was on a recall list on March 2018!  If I read it right my device can just short out and never deliver the appropriate therapy when/if needed.

No one ever alerted me.  I just sent a message to my electrophysiologist office but he is apparently out of office.  The EP that put the device in retired so I was without an EP without knowing I was without an EP for quite some time as I had not seen him since he implanted the de...

Happy Anniversary to Me

... and to my little battery-powered companion.  We'll be celebrating four years next week.  I'll never forget our special moment when we became as one ...notwithstanding that I was unconscious at the time.  What a great companion over these years - hoping for a few more together :)

Expirence with Azure XT Pacemaker

My Drug-resistant Symptomatic Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation cannot be treated with catheter ablation, so I was recommended to get a dual-chamber Medtronic Azure XT pacemaker for treatment of AFib.

Does anybody have experience with this arrangement?

Thanks

Vaccinations & Lymph Nodes with a PM

I was scanning through some old posts and saw something about lymph node swelling after a vaccination if it is administered in the arm on the same side as the PM. However, even after a search on the site I am able to find only one related post. My grandmother died of lymphoma, so of course it is a concern. I have had my PM for 35+ years and probably about 25 years ago had to have a swollen lymph node under my chin surgically removed and biopsied. It was benign. I can't say for sure i...

Terrified

So it's been a while since I have posted. I got shocked for the 5th time last week. I'm living in fear now, I'm supposed to go to two concerts in March and one in June and I am terrified to go because I'm afraid I will get overheated or do too much walking or whatever and get shocked again and this time it won't be just me screaming inside my house, I'll be out in public which I haven't been since august unless it was for a dr appointment. This was my worst fear, I...

Just Diagnosed

Just diagnosed, very concerning, and I really don't want to do this...

I get a little dizzy from time to time and my rate will go to 22 at night, but I haven't blacked out or fainted, some days I feel like crap maybe twice a month, but that's about it. My doctors are indicating my vital organs may not be getting the appropriate blood flow at 22 beats during the night and I had a few episodes of 3rd degree block as well. However, the PM is precautionary, but it is also p...
