I understand that there are magnets in the flywheel of recumbent exercise bikes. Is that a problem with a pacemaker? I have the MEDTRONIC revo sure scan, and have had 2 MRI s.

It's been three weeks and recovery seems to be progressing fine. Question about when I can resume shotgun shooting. Note: the pacemaker is not on the side that I mount the gun on. My doctor says I can resume after 12 weeks. I've read through many comments on this forum and the resumption of activity (swimming, golf) seems all over the board, with the average being between 6 and 8 weeks. I did see a few members state 12 weeks but not many. Why the significant re...

Good afternoon, ladies,
I am just getting back into jogging after having had a PM installed about three weeks ago.
Are there any female joggers/athletes out there who have found a brand or style of sports bra that works particularly well with a pacemaker? Now that I have a pacemaker, I'm finding the ones I've always used to be extremely uncomfortable, with the elastic strap coming straight down the middle of the pacemaker and scar on my left side. In fact, one hu...

Had pm for 2nd degree heart block. Never had pvc before pm but now I feel them late at night and when I do exercise especially cycling or jogging I go to bed and feel them more. Is this down to adrenaline still or am I just having to put up with this now every time I exercise. Do anyone else have this? I've been checked and told I'm fine. I'm 40 per cent paced right ventricle and 1per cent atrium. Has anyone tried magnesium with any success? Appreciate any c...

So I went to the gym today for the first time since I've gotten my pacemaker surgery on May 9th and I did an incline of about 7 with a speed of 2.5 or so and my heart jumped to 200!!! This freaks me out! I'm wandering if this is normal or any advice from anyone or what should I do?

Hello!
I am 33 and female. I had a dual-lead pacemaker installed about one week ago after my heart went into complete heart block for unknown causes (suddenly had a pulse of 30, highly irregular rhythm; after a week of testing, Doctor described me as "idiopathic"). I am lucky in that my SA node is still able to pace itself, and so from what I understand the pacer is simply helping transmit that signal to the rest of my heart so it all beats together.

Good evening. I have been diagnosed by my electrocardiologist as in need of a pacemaker for Bradychardia. I have been dealing with fainting episodes for quite a while and it was just attributed as vasal syncope (mis diagnosed). After having an implanted Medtronic monitering device it was found that when I pass out it is actually a "pause" or, no heartbeat for 8 seconds first time, 6 seconds one beat and then another 6 second pause the second time. It seems I have no option and being...

Had my Biotronik 3 lead implanted on 5/11. On 6/11 I rode 50 miles in a Bike MS event averaging just under 16 mph. I was tired but I can't believe how much less short of breath I was compared to the last few years. Who knew?!

So I just got my pacemaker about 3-4 weeks ago and I really wanna start working out and strength training. I'm a little hesitant to do this..I know I can't lift weights for another month or so but I was wandering if there's anyone on here who does have a pacemaker and strength trains and your experience, it would be so helpful! I have the biotronik s dr-8 promri I believe for 3rd degree AV block.

Hi Everyone,
I am fairly new here and have been learning a lot. I had a dual lead pacemaker implanted a week ago. I have been feeling great since the surgery and was up and about walking. I did not realize how badly I felt until I started feeling good with the PM.
I have been walking since day 2 post op and my pacemaker has gone up to 125 BPM and I have not felt any pre-PM symptoms. Today I challenged myself and went spinning, everything was going great then at 130 BPM I blocked...

I am an run maniac exactly 6 weeks after implantation of my (buddy) pacemaker. The doctor told me to wait 8 full weeks before I start vigorous running. During my first 2 week follow up my limit was .5 miles walking slowly. My condition was slow and pausing heart rate resulting in collapse and trips to the ER. With the pacemaker I no longer feel light headed and my heart rate is around 60+. I am 65+ and ran at 6:45 and did 400 repeats at 1:30. Will I return to that Rate with the pacemaker? Lookin...

Hi, I've had my Pacemaker for 3 months, and I'm now back on my elliptical cross trainer. However I'm a bit weary about using my chest pulse sensor.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi....I'm new to the group....I turn 51 tomorrow and have had my PM a year. Had a few complications (lead punctured my heart causing a rather significant pericardial effusion, a week later had to have pericardial window surgery, went into respiratory failure and a day later had a lung collapse) prior to all these issues, I was an avid runner (7 miles a day without batting an eye) but since my PM the most I've done is 4 miles and it absolutely kills me! My doctor said we'd do a treadmill test an...

I am 66 year old female. Had a Medtronic PM May 2015. Doctors says Tread Mill OK but no upper body exercises that would pull leads out including no fishing. He gives no guidance on what I can do. My arms are getting and looking weaker. I have bow-flex at house that I am now only using for my legs. What upper body exercises can I do? and what type of Physical trainer do I seek? I live in Ft Lauderdale.

I got up this morning to walk on the treadmill to motivate myself to loose weight because I am obese. When I was done I went decided to go past my sons house to do a little cleaning and wash some clothes, but as I was climbing the steps to his apartment I had to stop at the 3 landing of steps to catch my breath and all of a sudden I felt this pain in my chest that felt like a bomb had exploded. I am curious what that is. I have a pace maker and a difibulator implant. Could this possibly been my...
