Hi all - I hope you're having a great Thursday evening. I'm writing to ask about shingles - anybody have recent experience with symptoms of the virus? I see there are older posts upon doing a search here, but wondered if anybody has had a recent experience that they could share.Thanks.

Great site. I had a Medtronic PM W1DR01 installed on 4/21 due to low heart beat and Atrial Flutter. Prior to the PM I had ended up in the Hospital for 3 days after I noticed my heartbeat was in the 40's. My bpm one night got down to 35, got the nurse running around on that one. Heart tests showed the heart was strong and healthy, just my sinus node was diseased. I had a Cardioversion the 3rd day in the hospital to stop the flutter.
Prior to the PM,...

I understand that many feel this topic does not belong on this site. Since the blurry vision is subjective does this happen from a fast heart beat. Or because of the blurry vision does it cause the heart to beat faster to pump more blood into the eye.
None of my doctors will commit to these either.
Did have the 4 week checkup after the removal of the floaters. healing so well will not to see the retina doctor for 6 months. He did say if have vision&nb...

Since I have had 3 pacemaker operations since January 2020-
I now have a new third scar along with 2 smaller scars. Previously I used Bio oil. A friend recommended Dermatix silicone gel for scars. I wonder if anyone else has used this or something more effective than Bio oil?

I have had my PM for several weeks now and I’m thinking of changing to a different EP.
Once my primary started the process I felt caught up in the current and was just along for the ride, but now that it’s done, I’d like to explore other options.
The EP that did the surgery is part of a particular hospital that seems to be old and antiquated, not to mention that it’s some distance from my house.
The Doc. himself is good but I’m a little tro...

I would like to get a little feedback on my situation. I have had my PM for 35+ years and seeing the same cardiologist/EP since 1998. I think that I had an echo sometime back around 2006-08, but not exactly sure. The result was at least 50+ back then, but I don't have my records in front of me. My point is that it was in the normal range. My cardiologist just never sent me for another one and it never occurred to me that I should ask him. So I didn't get another until last year (2021)...

Hi group,
I"m scheduled for a dual implant of the Abbott Aveir dual chamber leadless pacemaker this coming Wednesday. I'm curious if anyone on the board has participated in this clinical trial and relate their experience so far. Regardless I will report back with short term and medium term results.
Thanks

My son has a Medtronic pacemaker 2 leads. His cardiologist wants to do an echo to see the efraction ratio. He said that if it's under 50 they will need to put in a third lead. I don't understand why the efraction ratio would go down and is this life threatening? Does anyone have any advice!

Hello members
Haven't been around for some time.
I had a check-up for my CRT-D last week.Thought I share it with you guys here.
(CRT-D Was implanted in Feb 2021 after severe Heart failure had been diagnosed in Nov 2020: severely dilated left ventricule EF at 15 % and lung oedema)
The EP doctor said that my heart is responding very well, and seems nearly back to normal. EF at 45.
All the genetically tests (72) came back négatif. So they stil...
Thinking over... no response required.

Two years ago I had a PM implanted. A month after that I had a cardioversion to reset my heart rhythm. Six weeks ago I had a series of ablations. I can see the mistakes that I've made that caused my heart to get worse. Throughout my life doctors would mention that I had an irregular or a premature heartbeat, etc. Than the docs would go on and talk about my sore knee or injured foot. Only once, after a high altitude run and a nagging (first) wife did I have follow up o...

Hi therre. Just got the results today from an echocardiogram. It has been 3 years since my last one (due to Covid) and my EF has dropped from 67 to 49. Apparently I have aorta stenosis and will be having an angiogram in the near future to see how bad it is. My cardiologist said it will probably end up with a valve replacement surgery in the future. I have had my PM for Bradycardia since 2016 and I thought all was going well. I am an active 81 year old f...

Got PM 10/6/21. Since then, PM has picked up V tach incidences (longest 12 secs while sleeping). Just received cardiac MRI results, no scar found so that is not the cause.
I'm curious, maybe I've had these all my life (or part of my adult life) & thought I was just dizzy or hypoglycemic at the time.
My EP just started getting regular transmissions from my Medtronic Carelink app. Will meet in June to discuss options. Lucki...

Does anyone know if the Iwatch 7 EKG app will work if you have a pacemaker? I know my Kardia does not work with the pacemaker I'm wondering if the IWatch is the same.

May I respectfully remind you that this is supposed to be a support group. Any openly hostile, ridiculing remarks made by you towards other members in the future will no longer be tolerated and will always be removed. How another member’s “genuine” distress can cause you such “hilarity” beggars belief.

I am a 68-year-old male with a fib but also had a three lead pacemaker inserted about six months ago. I got Covid, eventhough I was vaccinated, and some doctors think that it blew out my electrical system. I have Complete heart block I am I am 100% dependent on the pacemaker.
My pacemaker was orginally set at a low end of 80. And my heart stayed that way pretty much all the time unless I try to exercise it'll go to 115 120 which the a fib makes difficu...

In 5 years I have had two incidents causing my defribrillator to fire and re set my pace. The first time, I was driving, I had little response time as I cried out to my wife: I am passing out........................ I woke up to the car careening to a stop with mahem all around. I passed out at the wheel and was struck by a motorbike speeding down the wrong side of the road. I easily could have avoided the idiot, but whammo. The car was totalled, but I was alive. The 2nd time was 1...

A little frustrated here. My mother is 85 and has an enlarged heart. She has a left bundle block and some leaky valves. She had shortness of breathe last year so her internist did an echo and ekg. They saw abnormalities and started her on meds and said maybe crt. What is normal procedure to diagnose this. She saw a cardiologist who said he wants to figure out what caused this, probably ischemia. Another Dr. said leaky valves....
