I have had a pacemaker for 12 years wiith my low heart rate set at 60 bpm..
After a recent ablation procedure for afib, when I came home from the surgery, I discovered my low heart rate is set at 70. I have been feeling some fatigue and was wondering if, with the higher heart rate, I'm not sleeping well. Has anyone here had this experience.?
Thank you.

My Pacemaker is on the left side. I was wondering if some people had it on the right side or if most people had it on the left side? Which is better? Does it make a difference?

Complete newbie here. My Boston Scientific Accolade L311 was implanted 7/13/22. I was supposed to get a Latitude home monitor and today Boston Scientific informed me that the monitors are back ordered and I should expect to receive my monitor in " 4 to 6 months" !!! Does anyone know which Latitude monitors will work with the Accolade L311? The help line at Boston Scientific is closed for the weekend so I thought I'd find out more information here. I can try to buy one from EBay...

I am at 5 years on my 4th devise, still have 1 1/2 years left on battery. The device seems to move a little more than usual and aches a lot of the time. Has anyone else had this experience? Do you have any suggestions to make it more comfortable? Is there anything on the market such as a compression shirt that will reduce the movement?

Hello Everyone! I would like some input on home monitors vs. the phone monitor app. I have the home monitor. I was wondering if the phone app would be better? With the home monitor, i just plugged it in and it does its thing. I dont need to do anything. Is the phone app the same way once you set it up? When i got my home monitor, i was told the phone app has problems sometimes so he was pushing for me to take the home monitor. I travel and...

My first post!
I've been athletic all my life. I was a high school state swim meet winner. I adopted jogging instead of swimming as I got older because so much easier to do anytime anywhere. So, I got a bone spur in my neck pushing on a nerve and it needs to be removed. I go to get "cardiac clearance" because I'm over 60 (I'm 67). I told them I feel great, never tired, full of energy, jog 2 miles every morning before work, I don't need...

Hello to all my fellow pacers
My names Ed, and i'm celebrating my third year with a pacemaker. I have been traveling the country and have documented the trips on video. My goal is to motivate seniors to get out and enjoy their golden years, and see this fabulous country. A lot of senior citizens think their time has past, most of our National Parks are handicap accessable, so are all motels and restaurant along the way. So get out and enjoy the fruits of a long life. Hopefully...

Want to thank the previous posters about traveling through the airport securities with pacemaker.
The first time since pacemaker(implanted Aug.19,2019) going though security. The first airport I mentioned the pacemaker, was told to go to the other one, where the yellow footprints were. And stand with my hands above my head. Stepped out and said they would have to pat me down. Had forgotten to mention the metal in my shoulder and remove the kleenex from...

Hello everyone,
I actually don't have a pacemaker yet, but am considering getting one and wanted to see if others have had similar experiences or have any advice for me.
I am a 33-year-old woman, and on February 20th of this year, experienced my first syncope episode. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot and nauseous, went to the bathroom because I thought I might throw up. I was standing at the sink, and the next thing I knew, my boyfriend was holding me and...

I found this video that not only explains Afib but talks about a new procedure, or combination of procedures that appear to be very successful.

Had a DD pacemaker fitted last summer due to SS . It is set at 60.. It took a few months to settle down, had 5-10 minutes AF occasionally. So for the last 8 months its been great no problem.
One evening 3 weeks ago on a ship , felt my heart go into overdrive. Luckily the doctor was on call and I was in the medical room within about 5 minutes. .Heart rate was 160+, I was on a drip for 2 hours . Seemed fine for the next 2 weeks . However all this we...

In the literature I received on do's & dont's once you have a pacermaker, it says, do not expose your skin over the pacemaker for the first year, as it will darken your skin.in that area. I have asked at my check-ups why would it only affect you for one year. No one seems aware of this advice & have said just avoid exposing the area for a couple of months & all should be well. Has anyone else been advised to cover up for a year, or has...

Yesterday I was working outside and started feeling weak. I sat down and felt my pulse on my wrist. It was very slow and irregular. I walked to the house, still feeling weak, and took my blood pressure. The pressure was all right but it showed my pulse at 40. I called my doctor and sent in a Merlin report, but it showed nothing.
I'd like to know if this has happened to any of you and what you did about it. I called both the Merlin transmitter rep and the pacemaker rep and got no rea...
