I’m scheduled again tomorrow. Couldn’t do it last Friday because I had a tia that day!! Seem to have come out of it quickly and reschedule for tomorrow. Don’t like having Togo on blood thinner again. Didn’t break anything when I passed out but have bruised shoulder and rib. Be so glad when I don’t have to worry about Brady or tachycardia again.

Stinging feeling middle of chest and near ribs

My pacemaker is just over 3 weeks old. Incision healing well. I went for follow up and cardiologist released me to drive and I return in 4 months. Trying to keep arm below shoulder for two more weeks. . A package was delivered yesterday and when I lifted it; I realized it was probably too heavy and put it down immediately and pushed it into the house. Replacement Pacemaker

I had a new device put in 10 days ago.  

The old device was perfect and was not noticeable under my skin.  My new device bulges out and Is quite noticeable

does anyone have any strategies on how to deal with the doctor who put this in as I am very unhappy with this device?

Still getting pre-syncope feeling

I'm 39 and since having my dual chamber pm implanted on July 27th after 5 fainting episodes starting from May I'm still having the same odd pre-syncope feelings that I got every time I fainted prior to the op. They occur in a similar time frame to my fainting episodes, roughly 4-weekly, so I'm assuming that whatever was happening to me is still happening but the pm is stopping me from fainting. Exertion problems and fatigue

Hi - very glad to find this site and just joined up.

had my first pacemaker implanted 12 years ago for SSS and a replacement in January 2017. After my second pacemaker was implanted I felt better but not as good as with the previous one. I just thought it was because I was older and had become quite unfit.

1 year post-op discomfort

Hi all,

    I am currently on my 5th pacemaker and have had this one a little over a year. During surgery, my surgeon decided to go subpectoral and it looks good however I have been in pain every single day since surgery which was June of last year. In June of this year (2018), I got an x ray done to confirm that my rib had been pulled out of place during surgery--hence why I was still having unexplainable pain. Postural Hypotension? Tapping?

I have a Medtronics dual chamber rate responsive, 3rd degree block (complete), also have CHF after valve replacement with complications. Magnet Proximity Alarm

I've had various Medtronics devices since 2006. This is #5. I am 100% pacer dependent.

Recently the magnet proximity alarm has been going off. Nowhere near any magnet, large or small, no recorded incidents, etc.

Medtronics says it can only be a magnet, usually within 6 inches, that is sounding the alarm. None of the scenarios suggested apply - no new phone or electronics, not dressed (so no zippers or metals), and not even holding something when it happens.  Pacer cl...

Contraindications

How "seriously" does one take any contraindication to any procedure?  Is the contraindication written in stone, and if violated, one is doomed? Is it a issue or normal ?

I am 40 years old and have been health my hole life no daily meds or any thing and working on average 60 hourrs a week . I went into the er felling faint thinking I was dehydrated . High bp

As I have stated I just had my PM put in 10/2, had to have a revision on 10/9 @the time of admission to the er on 10/8, they said I had high BP, I get this tight/ache feeling in my chest that will go into my neck that feels like a stiff neck. They put me on BP medication. Tonight I want doing anything and notice the feeling coming back and I checked my BP and it is again 142/101. Has anyone else had this happen?

insomnia, vomiting dizzy spells very weak and tired all the time after pacemaker installation

I have been dealing with heart failure for a year now since Oct 2017.   I have had 2 previous open heart surgeries. a pig valve was installed in 1992 and than a mechanical heart valve was installed in 2009. Hiccups!

I had my PM on 10/2 then a revision on 10/9 due to a lead came loose. Now I'm having an occasional hiccup. I'm not a person who hiccups but I have had them.

Also on 10/8 when I was admitted to hospital, I had a high BP 150/121 they put me on BP meds, has anyone else had anything up with their BP. I've never had high BP before and I had a really bad headache.

dislodged leads

Hi, I've posted here before about dislodged leads and a lead was pacing my diaphragm. I had a revision. I went for my 2 week checkup and the leads were dislodged again.  They turned off my device said they were 3 mos out for appointments. New pacemaker

I had my device put in on 10/2 I'm home and tonight I noticed I feel like my chest is congested but there's no coughing or anything. As I was on the couch, I had my dog sitting next to me and thought she had hiccups, I could feel this twitching on my right side. So I figured it was her after moving it didn't appear again. Just got pacemaker in Aug. Monitor has now lit up twice , weeks apart, in middle of the night. What to do when that happens? Couldn’t find answer on web. Couldn’t log into Carelink website. Three tries... help!

I had my first device place May 25, 2018, when I went to leave the Boston Scientific rep said the lower leads were firing incorrectly. However, as it was Memorial Day weekend she stated no would come in and I should go. I did and promptly passed out. Lead dislodgment

Just spent 3.5 hours in the ER my atrial lead is pulled and inappropriately shocking me. I just returned back to work (I'm a nurse) 3 weeks ago post op lead revision.  The MD is recommending leaving a dislodged lead in and turning down the rate and voltage so that it doesnt shock me.  I am having a hard time accepting leaving a lead in my heart that will be harder to remove years later.  If it's not working right why are they leaving it.
