Altitude sickness

Last  week my adult son  decided to take a short drive .He just had his second pacemaker/ defibrillator  in Aug.  Living in Los Angeles the mountains aren't that far.  As he drove just past  the ski lifts,about 7,000 feet up ,he had trouble breathing, upset stomach,and pain from the left ear down to the heart. Bulging pacemaker

Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this if I lay flat on my back and I go to sit up I'm fine but if I'm laying on my side and not thinking I go to sit up my pacemaker bulges out into a big lump and it's painful so I try to remember if I'm laying on my side before sitting up to roll over onto my back  because if it does bulge because I accidentally set up from the position of laying on my side  if I laid back down side of my back and we'll go into place...

It's been 7 months since my pacemaker implant , I am still experienceing  pain , it feels like something is pressing against my clavicle bone . I can not lay on my left side because it squishes & hurts ! Does anyone else feel the pressure on the clavicle ? It also hurts into my armpit & part of my breast !

Pneumothorax post pacemaker insertion

Hi all 

I am 3 weeks post my ppm insertion. Totally unexpected as a result of sick sinus syndrome then complicated by pneumothorax and a lung surgery to reinflate  my lung.. so have had a pretty full on few weeks .. on the whole doing ok just slow healing where the chest drains were. Anyway as a newbie and  feeling a bit blahwith the complications.. trying to get my mojo back .. so decided to join this group

What manufacturer is best

My 67 yr old dad had a valve replacement 4 months ago and the surgery went great until he had HIT from the heparin which then triggered a stroke. After spending months recovering and learning to walk again he was finally starting to feel like he might get his life back. Pacemaker repositioning

As a follow-up to https://www.pacemakerclub.com/message/33858 (pacemaker moved 12 days post-implementation) I went to the hospital today and saw first the specialist arrhythmia nurse and then the senior EP consultant in the arrhythmia team. They both agreed the pacemaker had moved -- even if they couldn't actually find it -- it was placed under the muscle and has shifted up and sideways to pinch nerves but is still so well-padded they can only estimate an approximate position.

16 years of infection update

I've had my infection since 2002 looking like endocarditis still waiting for my operation. My pacemaker pocket is full of puss which burst last week leaving a hole in the centre. hopefully I will be getting the pacemaker removed soon. I also found out I have three veins in my heart. chest pains

I have discussed this before about Palpitations. I had a Dual PM fitted in May 2018 and had problems. The 6 week check up they altered the PM and from then on I had nothing but Palpitations. A week later I went back and they said nothing was wrong with the settings of the PM were correct and, to go and see a Doctor to give me something to change this. Hi everyone, i’m wondering if you’ve ever had issues with thrombosis, post-implant. Fear of infection?

Hi, 

I am 65 y.o female. Got my Medtronic CRTP implant 2 months back. Sometimes I feel a twitching/ burning pain above the pm site, which appears a bit swollen and also took the longest to heal. I have no fever or any pain around the site. I feel normal. Sitting and standing bp difference

My name is Ryan. Dual Chamber P

I’m a 57 yr old male and my original PM setup was a lead in coronary sinus and one in rt atrium back in April of 2015. Coronary sinus lead lost capture and EP couldn’t remove lead so he placed a new one in RV to mid septum back in May of this year (new PM as well).  My ejection fraction a few months later is 42% with severe LV dilation according to echocardiogram last week. Never had any LV dilation from previous echos.

Dislodged Lead! 9 days Post Op!!

Well, I just recently received my pacemaker 8/28/18. I was feeling ok until a heavy feeling in my chest occurred a few days ago. I thought it was just me needing to adjust to pacemaker. So today I was scheduled for my first post op check up... explained how I was feeling and they immediately sent me for an echocardiogram and chest X-ray. Catching Ones breath.

Hi, I had a 2 lead pacemaker fitted in June 2018. to try to correct a slow beat and some atrial flutter. All was fine until a few days ago when I started to get a feeling of "Catching my breath". It seems to happen maybe once an hour and lasts only a fraction of a second and is gone. It is like a reflex action and gives no notice and no pain. Anybody any ideas?

palpitations

 

3 months ago I had a pacemaker fitted,(last operation on a friday afternoon before a bank holiday).
Since then I have suffered with palpitations, now the give you an emergency No: to ring if any problems. After 2 weeks I called and they had me in that afternoon.
