Hi all. I have a Dual lead pm, 2,5 yrs already. Is it possible that a car remote can jam, meaning not lock due to my pacemaker? Do my pm signals jam the remote? Car beeps and says “Key not detected”.... and I changed the batteries of both the remotes but still it happens when I try locking the car. Weird. It only happens with me, but no one else that drives the car. Sounds crazy hey. Anyone else experience it? 😊

I travel a lot. Often 3-4 airports a week and once a month outside the country. I've got an ICD/pacemaker and I'm paced about 95% of the time.
For the first few months I was very diligent at showing my card and waiting to go through the back-scatter machines or get the pat down service at the security checks.
But then one day, I decided to walk through the upright to see what would happen... would I set it off? would my pacing stop? Would it shock me? I closed...

Hi everyone! New to this club and to pacemaker equipment as of January 29th, 2019. Wondering if anyone out there is a Mechanic or a Welder that also has a pacemaker and how it has changed their work place day to day stuff. Things that could affect the pacemaker operation, what to avoid and what to do to protect so can do normal routine of job. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I enjoy my work and want to continue it.

I asked my cardiologist today about electronic diagnostic scales and ICD and insisted for a straight answer. Here is what I get: "Better not."

I had a PM installed 3/4/19 and have some questions about wearing an Apple Watch or Fitbit for self-monitoring and general travel. Obviously I do not have a clear understanding how this all works.
1. Will the devices interfere with my PM?
2. If not, which one offers the best information?
3. Do I carry my Merlin Transmitter with me when I stay in a motel?
4. How am I monitored during the day when I am outside, shopping, or riding in a car?
Thank you for...

Hello,
In addition to having a pacemaker, I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. I recently was upgraded to a newer CPAP. The straps for the nose mask have magnetic clips on either side. The magnets attach the straps and sit about 1/2 way between the bottom of my jawbone and my ears. The CPAP tech had literature saying that the magnets should not interfere with a pacemaker. The magnets are small, and I am inclined to believe they are not a...

Is my phone interfering (spelling not my strong suit) with my cardio messenger? Am I supposed to keep them a certain distance away from each other. Does that mean using my phone is blocking messenger from connecting with my doctor?
Also I had a weird 10 second thing my heart started beating really fast. I obviously noticed and tried to Pace my breathing, and it slowed but isn't the pacemaker soposed to keep that from happening?

Just wanted to find out if anyone else had this experience. For several weeks I’ve been pushing a walker due to arthritic knees. I can actually walk just fine; the walker helps me get around more confidently. A few days ago I was visiting my husband at a really large hospital. While I was walking with his entourage who were moving him to a new room, we stopped to wait for an elevator. It was then that I felt light-headed and “funn...

Do Industrial type elevators the ones that can carry large stuff cause problems with pacing devices and if so should I worry if their is an Interferece. I had to use one twice today. After I came back up I felt like their may have been an Interference but it only lasted about a second or two.

Hi everyone. Its been along time since I have been on this site. Adjusting to my PM continues. Sometimes I forget I have one. We will be going to Disney World with the grandkids. Question being, will going on the rides interfer with my PM?
Thanks,
Rosie

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
