New ICD fears
Hi. I'm brand new to this forum and a new patient to an ICD. My ICD was fitted just three weeks ago and obviously I get concerned about all sorts of things. I'm hoping some nice soul will help me out.
1. My ICD seems to be more prominently close to the surface today than it diid yesterday. I inadvertently moved my arm a bit too much last night in bed and now I feel more aware of my ICD - is this normal?
2. How possible is it that by moving my arm too high that I have dislodged somethin...

Ever heard of this?
Hi! You seem to know as much or more about EP as anyone here. I got a brand new B.S. defibrillator with all the bells and whistles 1 year ago. Recently, I had a syncopal spell.that lasted on 'n off for 2 hours..so I got out my interrogation summary and looked at it. All my ATP's were turned off. I called and talked to the "new" EP tech. He told me,Your ICD does not have ATP capacity." I told him it was using it in February...Did Doc order it turned off or did it just happen....He said O...

ATP Question
I've had my ICD, Boston Scientific, for a little over two months (8-22-13). I had two VTach episodes about two years apart. The Doc tried to fix it with Ablation but was unable to totally eliminate the problem. The next day the ICD was implanted. At first I was on Beta-Blockers but I just could not tolerate them. I'm an avid cyclist/former runner and the BB's made me feel like I was stuck in second gear. We agreed to stop them and see how I do.- so far so good.
My question is about the pac...
CRT/ICD
I have had my new pacemaker for cardiac resychronization therapy for one year now. I haven't felt a lot of difference. I was waiting a year before I went through the expense of echo to see if my ejection fraction has gone up from 25%. Has anyone out there had this therapy and have you felt better?
new ICD
I just got my Medtronic ICD implanted on October 3. Last night during the night I stretched my left arm over my head. I panicked and immediately put it down, but I am terrified that I messed something up. I see my doctor for a wound check on Friday. Anyone have this happen to them? It is hard adjusting to this!
Help and Advice Please
Hello everyone, my name is Lina. My boyfriend is 22 years old and is suppose to have an ICD surgery soon. I was hoping to speak with someone who already has an ICD. I have a few concerns and worries about the surgery and recovery after the surgery. I would like to give him encouraging words and be supportive, but I am very scared for him.

Am I feeling wires under skin?
I'm not really concerned but just curious as I can feel these to separate things (which feel a bit more defined than veins under the skin) and I can very faintly see a tiny lump above my incision where i can feel these two "wires". They continue below my incision and the feeling becomes less obvious as I reach where the ICD is. These weren't there before and have only become obvious in the last month or so... Oh and I've had my ICD for approx. 11 months. Any ideas as to what this is?? Is it just...
Moving pacemaker
Hi everyone
I just have a quick question, there is a possibility I am going to have to have my pacemaker moved from my left side to either my right side or my abdomen. Can anyone tell me what the pro and cons may be to moving it to my abdomen and how the surgery recovery is? Also I was wondering if they will have to place new leads. Any input would be great!
Hey, neighbors!
I posted a little while ago about getting an ICD. My surgery was on Friday and it went fabulously. It hasn't been too painful, just a little sore at times. Sleeping is the only complaint I have. It's only comfortable to sleep on my back. Wearing a bra is no problem. My hospital stay was amazing. It was like staying at a hotel, even the food was good. I appreciate all the thought and prayers! Just wanted to let y'all know that I was doing okay And I can testify that the surgery isn't bad at all!...

Getting very discouraged!
Hi all,
It has been a little while since I have posted but now I really don't know what to do. I had another ablation about 4 weeks ago( which was my 7th). Surgery lasted almost 8 hrs and the dr thought that he finally got everything. The reason for the surgery was my heart was over riding the pacer again at rates of 165. I did pretty good the first couple of weeks even though I felt exhausted and did not seem to bounce back very quick like I did on my other ablations.

Upgrading to CRT-D
After 16 years on a dual chamber pacemaker, I am going to be upgraded to CRT-D. I have had two Medtronic pacemakers in those 16 years, a Thera and now on an Adapta. My cardiologist uses Medtronic so I was looking through their website at the different CRT-D devices and it is difficult to determine which would be the best for me and why. They list a Viva, Protecta, Concerto, or Maximo. Does anyone know why one model would be used over another? Insurance? What can one model do that another c...
Maximo?
Back in the 80's I had a Flymo Maximo lawnmower, same name as my ICD!
