I was just reading how the next iphone may have wireless battery charging. Imagine us having wireless recharging for our pacemakers and no need to replace. Wishful thinking or maybe just around the corner? Is there an app for that ; )

Would rather have the whole lot ripped out and an injection of something to encourage my AV node to heal thyself..

I keep waiting for them to install other "features" into our devices such as on demand voice activated GPS complete with turn by turn directions, AND iTunes/ cloud capabilities.
BUT for now, I'd just really, really, really, really, like them to advance their technology in RATE RESPONSE. Pardon me, scientific people......uh, hum, 'scuse me, but your pacer technology in rate response isn't anywhere near close to HUMAN heart-rate response, and I shouldn't have to pound on my chest to walk up inclines or use the stairs. There's SO MUCH more to rate response than movement. Get with it people! Chop, Chop! Some of us with pacers are not geriatric and would really enjoy being active again. Your so called "rate response" gives me glimpses, though, of what it might feel like to be 80.
Other than that, I have no complaints.......lol

The current technology for Rate Response is unsophisticated to say the least. Most pacemakers rely on movement alone to increase heart rate , a few include breathing as the trigger .
Maybe mimicking the human response is complicated but that is certainly an area which researchers should concentrate on instead of fairly useless gimmicks..........but I do like the sound of your GPS feature !

The FDA is looking at a few things for smartphones that will help out peoples health.
First up is a cover for a smartphone. When holding it, it will read a real time EKG, ect. Should hit the market within a year.
Now you're talking

There was a 60 Minutes not too long ago that focused on the heart and all the readings it could provide for us. I figure we Are close to some major break throughs.
I like the idea of a GPS and I tunes. How convenient would that be. How about a kindle or nook book read from the inside out. I can't wait.

You dont want a rechargable pacer. When you get a neew battery every 7 years or so you get the most updated pacer as well. I would rather go in for the change. Just my opinion.
