The MERLIN will monitor you anytime you are within distance. Leave it connected and always be sure it is on a phone line too. If you see the green light you are good to go. You don't have to do anything at all as long as you can see the green light. I forget that it is even in the room most of the time.

You are going to be just fine. If you have any problems, please just ask. There are a few of us here who live with a MERLIN. I find it to be trouble free and very easy to live with.

Keep it hooked up

You really need to keep it hooked up all the time. Mine has picked up a problem I was having one day, The next day I ended up back in the hospital.

On a side note. If and when at times it will alarm off. Not often, but it does if the phone system goes nuts. Its very loud when it goes into alarm. The first time mine went nuts, I was outside and my wife was inside. She came running out yelling out for me just knowing I was in trouble. Well, I was fine! It scared the daylights out of my wife. It lost its phone line which sent it into alarm. Nobody told us that is will do this! The book doesn't tell you anything about this too! Now you are farwarn that it will do this.

Oh, my last check up I was in, a person was calling in with trouble and that person had a Merlin. The nurse asked why they didn't have it hooked up and the person though they didn't need it. The nurse could only shake her head and told the person to hook up so they could get a reading right then and there and to keep it hooked up all the time.
