Indoor Cycling

Hi -

Does anyone participate in indoor cycling classes? Sometimes called "spin" classes? If you so, do you know anything about the newer bikes that are magnet powered? Are they safe for us? I'm going to call my cardio on Monday, but thought I'd ask the experts first.

Thanks!

I love spin classes! I've done them without a problem. Most newer pm's are shielded and are fine around most electronics. The rule of thumb on magnets is 6" from our pm. If there is a problem, you'll just feel a little funny when you're close to it but feel fine again as soon as you get away from it. Call first and make sure they don't have any red flags. This is just me, but I don't worry about things like that much, I just test it out and see how I feel.

I work part time at a bike shop that has some of the new "magnetic spin bikes".I've had no problems with any of them.
