With my jewelry making I wonder am I safe to use a Dremmel to drill my polished stones? Also, I use CPAP and sometimes feel the electrical vibrations through my chest. Is that o.k? How about my cordless house phone? I already know about cell phones.

CPAP

I have used a CPAP the last two years with my PM w/o any problems. But I do not have any "vibrations" I guess I'd check it out with your doc.
Welcome to the club,
Janet
Thank You Everyone

Thank you for the advice and comments. I believe that this is a good place for me to come, when I need to see that I am not alone.. I just got the pacemaker 2 weeks ago and I am in the feeling afraid and sorry for myself stages. I had to have it put in place twice in a week and I am worried that I will move funny or it won't take hold in my flesh for some reason.
Also, will it ever stop feeling like it flops a little in my chest? Do I always have to worry about it dislodging like it did?
I feel better learning from the people with the pacers, more than the Docs who just implant them.
Thank you again to those who responded to my 1rst question.

Welcome to this site.
You certainly are not alone now. I know, it is very hard to wrap your head around having to have a pacemaker. It will take time. We all heal emotionally and physically at different speeds, so give yourself some time. I find it helpful to surround yourself with a lot of support from friends and family and here of course!!!!!!!
2 weeks is not a long time and you still have to be very careful using your arm (I'm assuming your pacer is on the left side of your chest?) Usually the doctors tell us to be very careful for the first 6 wks as to allow the leads to anchor themselves. Sometimes though, without us doing anything, they will dislodge - it happened to me 3 times!!!!!!!!
Also - the feeling that it is flopping around in your chest, that too should go away soon as you are still mending inside.
It's a lot to deal with, so never hesitate to ask questions either here or directly to your doctors.
Take care,
Pookie

I agree with Magster -- when I have questions I call my PM manufacturer and talk to techs -- they seem to be in the know and more than happy to help at any time.
Continued good health to you.

Hello Pookie, Rose Here!

I just wanted to say Thank You So Kindly for your words of comfort and encouragement. You're right this is hard to get use to. Yes it is in the left side of my chest. I have been so careful. But I am very heavyset and my flesh moves more forceful than a thin person. I have been wearing a sports bra, even to sleep because of my larger chest.
I am also waiting to heal enough to start singing with my band again. Wondering when I can get back to it. My musicians are waiting. It is my band so I suppose they can always quit but they can't fire me. LOL! I am a Jazz and Blues Singer. Have been for 36 years and chomping at the bit to get back to it. I am on disability and need the extra income very badly.
Thank You.
Take care.
Hugs,
Rose
Go for it.

If you feel up to it go and sign with your band again. It will help you heal when you get back to your regular routine. Take it easy at first. If you don't think you can do it anymore relax for a bit and try again in a little while.

Thank you for the sweet comment. I am going to start practicing on my own before I involve the guys in my band. See how it goes and decide from there. Seems better than pushing to hard to fast. Good advice Dear.
Hugs,
Rose

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.

Safe to use a Dremel. Its only a small drill. I dont know what a CPAP is but I assume you mean the vibrations caused by the device and not electrical shocks. Cheers Peter
