Sideways?

HAd my PM replaced Monday...took the bnadages off yesterday and judging by the bulge, I think my Doc might have put it in sideways...meaning flipped 90 degrees. Anyone elses implanted that way? I guess I will find out for sure at my 2 week follow up. If he did, I'm sure there was a reason. Maybe to give the leads a bit more slack? Anyways, had it done at the Texas Heart Institute so I know these guys know what they're doing. Weird.

Shouldn't be sideways.

Maybe the pacer is in like it should be and you are sideways! LOL

Def sideways

The bulge where the rubber/plastic compartment that the leads come out of is facing down on my left side rather than, facing right on top. I have my 2 week check on the 28th, and will ask...but theres no way it could have shifted, its in there securely...years ago they told me there wasn't much "slack" in my leads, maybe they decided to free them up a bit by adjusting the placement. I took home my old pacer and holding it up to my new one, its easy to tell its placed differently.

matters?

Please dont quote me on this but I dont believe it matters which way it goes. I dont believe it affects the pacemaker whether it is upside down, sideways, etc. I think the put the "normal" way to prevent less jarring on the leads, but I dont believe it affects you if it is turned 90 degrees.. like you said it could be a lead thing. But again dont quote me.

mine hurt that way
