a beeping sound

Hi Everyone,
I have not posted in a while, I have been doing really good, but today as I was bending down to get some clothes out of the dryer I heard a beeping sound. At first I thought it was my dryer, but it has nothing that would do that. Then I thought it must be coming from my pm. I have only had it for a little over a year. Has anyone else had this happen.

during my first year or so.

Seemed very real, but eventually I decided it was a hallucination, or I was hearing a sound elsewhere and thinking it within me.

Maybe someone here know more about these gadgets.

this has happened before, just use the Search feature - upper right hand corner and type in the word "beep" and you will see that you are not the only one that this has happened to.

You didn't mention what kind of device you have...what model, Medtronics, etc.???

I hope you find your answer or the beeping at least stops.

Beeps and Alarms

I have a Medtronic 'Concerto' CRT bi-ventricular pacemaker-defibrillator which has two internal alarms. These alarms are programmed to 'beep' at pre-set times for specific reasons. One alarm that 'beeps' at 10.30 am if the device detects a possible problem with a low battery or one of the leads, and another alarm set to activate at 2.30 pm if it detects a level of fluid in my lungs that requires intervention.This alarm activates at an early stage so the fluid issues can be addressed before a more serious problem eventuates.My cardiologist/EP has provided me with a number of strategies to meet the fluid retention problem.

Although the alarm for battery and leads has never activated, the fluid accumulation alarm has activated on a number of occasions. The 10.30 am alarm is programmed to repeat the 'beeping' every three hours until an interrogation of the device is done at a clinic.

The interesting thing, in my case, is that being deaf, I do not hear the alarm, but my wife, family, friends and neighbours are aware of my alarms and, when with me, inform me of my 'beeping noises'!

I would agree with Cabg Patch and suggest you have a read through your manual and also have a chat with your cardiologist, EP or technician about this issue.
