I went for my 6 month pacer check up a week ago. The Doc was happy that I had no dizzynes or passouts for the last 6 months. I Have Vasovagal Syncope. So I asked him if I could ride a roller coaster while vacationing in Las Vegas. He said OK as long as the belting system did not hit the pacer. So although a bit apprehensive I tried the coaster at New York New York. It has a full loop and a barrel roll that turns you upside down. Well all went very well it was great fun and I had no problems. It was also a lot cheaper than a tilt table test,Ha! Ha! I just wanted everyone to know that having a pacer doesn't mean life has to stop. I am 65 and having the time of my life and I thank ,God everyday for this 2nd chance. Bowlrbob

Hi, bowlrbob!
It's great to hear how well you're doing! I'm glad to hear that the Vegas trip was fun. I loved your line about "cheaper than a tilt table test!" I hit my 5 month mark with my pm today. Well, if you're already riding the coasters and are only 1, what will you do when you're 2?! You're wife better keep an eye on you!
Your syncopic friend,

i think it is great and good for you. any activity at 65 is better than none. i truly believe that retirement is not sitting in a chair.i am eight months now with my pacer and i am 65. i have been on a road trip to florida and thoroughly enjoyed it. we met some great pople there from p.a. and turned out one night we danced at a nightclub for hours with them. they were a family from erie with an 80 year old monsignour as a b-i-l we were not supposed to know this and he danced the most and it was just a scream. so the thing is take advantage of everything you can life has to offer and smile because as you say we have a second chance. take care and keep having fun. jessie

Good for you!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your coaster ride. I haven't been on one since i was 13 (60 years ago) and don't personally see the excitement for it. But, hey, if you find it fun, I say go for it! I agree that having a pacer only enhances our lives and we are limited only by our imagination. I have nore energy since being "wired" last summer than I've had for the past ten years!
You know you're wired when...

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.

Bowlbob,
Can I say it sounds like you are in you are in your second childhood and enjoying every minute it, without offending you. I hope you don't mind becuse I'm just about green with envy. That is all except the roller coaster part. I was not a big fan of those 50 years ago.
I do agree very much that life does not have to stop just becasue we get a pacemaker. I don't do all the things I did before I got my PM but it is not because of the PM. I think age (78 next month) has a little to do with it. But I do know that a lot of those things I am doing probably would not be possible without my PM.
My wish for you is that the Happy Days continue until you get tired of them.
