Not a thorough scientific study but some food for thought.
Apparently iPads and SmartCovers MIGHT put ICDs into magenet mode under some circumstances.
Impressivecwork for a 14 year old!

Hi Steve I agree it is impressive that a 14 yr old has been doing something "scientific" but I'm not sure how new her findings are.
In the booklet which I got with my I Pad ,relatively recently, it states that I Pads contain magnets on their left and right edges and that PM implant patients should always keep at least 6 inches ( around 15 cm ) between the tablet and the chest.
There has been discussion on this topic fairly recently on here , some posters use their I Pads with gay abandon and clutch them to their bosoms while they sleep... and have had no problems
I feel "something" but am aware that any interaction between IPad and PM is temporary and reversible ....BUT if I had an ICD I think I would make sure that the 6 inches was at least 12 inches !!
Cheers
Ian
