Still feeling tired

I just joined the group and am so impressed with all of the helpful information. I had my PM implant on Dec. 28 and the procedure went well. Also, my 10 day followup visit was good. I go back on Feb 17 for an ekg and appt at pacer clinic. I teach high school Spanish and went back to school 2 weeks after surgery. The first two days I felt great but then I started to feel tired the third day. Is it normal to continue to feel tired for a few weeks after the implant? I also feel like my body is still adjusting to the regular heart beat. Before the PM my heart rate was in the 30's. Sometimes I get the sensation of my heart rate dropping but it doesn't and then I feel fine. Just wondering if any of you have experienced the same?

If you are like I was, it will take a few weeks/mabe more to get your PM set to fit you. I have a rate responsive two lead and it took almost a month to get it set. They like 60bpm for some reason, however mine had to be set at 68 for me to perform. Not pain ,etc involved to set. Doctor can do it in his office in a few minutes. It's amazing how they can tell you when your PM wqas on line and for how long/etc. Also, I have not stopped ANY of my activities except contact sports. I hunt/fish etc. Only trouble I have is I sleep on my stomach and sometimes I get sore on the left side (over PM site).
Push yourself if you can and that way you will be able to sort of set your BPM levels. Your PM will take care of you anyway (Sort of on demand for you). Live life as you never did before, take full advantage of your NEW LEASE on life.

Tireness

Depending on how long you went with your HR in the 30's it may take a while because your organs and brain were being short changed on blood flow. They are now getting normal flow and need to recover.

Some of us like me had our pacer implanted within a few days of a drop in HR. We recover almost instantly when the pacer is started. I mention this because you will see some of us who didn't go through an extended recovery. But it isn't universal.

best wishes,

I had the same thing happen to me for a year after getting my pacer. I was only 30 I started going to a regular doctor and she tested me for many things and i tested positive for lymes disease. I had a complete heart block with a pulse in the 30's when I got my pacer. Turns out the lymes disease was positive and that was the cause of needing the pacer all along. U might wanna get tested for it.
