just plain run down

Anyone experiencing this? Was told that I had bad ventrical lead last December. Still have had nothing done about it (not pacer dependent). Tried to do unipolar vs bipolar but didn’t work and was put back like it was originally. Am told that they are pacing ONLY the ATRIUM (since January).

Lately I feel awful!   Just plain tired and run down with basically no energy at all. Settings are at 60bpm (low) and 130 bpm (high).  HR seems to want to stay from 60bpm to 70bpm no matter what.

Recently had a stress test (chemical) and was not able to get anywhere close to goal (130bpm) and had to be drugged to get to where they wanted it to be (148 bpm). Test showed NO blockage at all. Unable to do much walking or basically any demanding exercise (I get tired just walking to my garden and back), short of breath, and legs feel like they will fold up. I do have an appointment with my PM doctor the 21st of JUNE which is the best I could do without going thru the emergency room!!

Blood pressure is doing nutty things like 80/50 one minute and 117/77 the next. Numbers from the one above to 90/55, 101/65, 100/60, 120/80, 105/70 and about any numbers you can imagine. Pacemaker due for change in about 13 months and I think they are going to torture me until that time. Doctors keep telling me everything is fine, but I sure as heck don’t feel fine! Haven’t passed out but feel like I will from time to time. Can PM issue cause these problems/issues?

In hospital recently with chest pains that just would not completely go away. Discharged with a diagnosis of "suspect muscular/skeletal caused". This was after I was eating dinner one minute and the next I went numb and nearly blacked out (lasted about 1 to 2 minutes - I think, not sure). Got dizzy and very disoriented sitting on side of bed having dinner.  This was at a very WELL KNOWN hospital (where PM was placed and three (3) stents were placed (one in Sept. 2011).

How can I psyche myself up to deal with this until next month?

Thanks,
Cecil

Thinking of you

Sorry to hear you are so run down.

Sometimes the pm needs replacing sooner than thought. How did you feel before you got your pm?
I am unable to answer any technical queries. I leave that to others. But as you say your legs feel as if they are going to collapse under you. This is what happened to me when I needed a pm and what happened again when my pm needed replacing even though it was way before expiry was predicted. Hope you get your problems sorted out. I would not hesitate to go to ER if needed.

Bad lead

Just because you aren't PM dependent doesn't mean that a pacemaker is needed for your quality of life. Keep in mind that the lead was originally implanted for a reason. Having it go bad doesn't change the need for it.

It's about time to get pushy about having it replaced.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
