Hi All - Just had my pacemaker "installed" (sounds like a new muffler!!!!! :-) on March 17, after some funky stuff. Was on a cruise in January; my heart went all funky - I passed out twice - I was put off the ship in St. Lucia, along with my partner, and left there.......always buy travel insurance!
Had an ablation in February; then, my heart rate went into the 40's; 30's at night, and I passed out again, this time putting my head through the drywall in the bathroom - hurt my pride - and, my backside. Tile really is hard! Went to the hospital and the pacemaker is now in - just before it was installed my heart went as low as 31 beats a minute.....scary.
A week out as of today, and I see my cardiologist......actually now feeling better than I have in a while........and the good news is I've been cleared to take a long-planned cruise next month. Glad to join the forum and learn lots from everyone.

Welcome aboard:)
You do have a good attitude and I truly believe that's half the battle when we are hit with issues that are sometimes unexpected, especially when it comes to our health.
When you say your pulse went down to 31 bpm, was that during the day? Just curious as mine went down as low as 32, but that only happened at night (that I know of) as I was wearing a Holter Monitor at the time, this was back in late 2004.
However, when I go in for my pacemaker checkups (every 6 months as we don't have the phone monitoring available where I live in Canada) they do check my intrinsic rate (which is your own natural heart rate) and mine always goes down into the 30s now.
Glad to hear you are feeling better and that you are going on another cruise...I think you deserve it!!!
Keep us posted on how you're doing...okay?
Take care,
Pookie
