I have a honiton monitor for St Jude Pacer and defibrillator.
How will i know if it is still working. Had inplant June 2011. Have had no follow up since.
Should an error occur how would i know and what would i do??
People talk about alarm but what happens. .

I have not had a followup app apart from post surgery..
My own GP does not know much about these devices (She admits).What about when I go on holiday? Have been away several times did not take monitor.Why no contact to find out what has happened.
Never given a schedule for checks. I am in UK does that make a difference?

There are several members here from the UK. You could post a new message asking specifically the UK members about their follow-ups. I'm pretty sure that the NHS pays for regular check-ups, maybe it's just because of your doctors ignorance of defibrillators that you never had any.
You can also find some information about defibrillators on the Arrhythmia Alliance's (UK based heart rhythm charity) website:

And the AA has a helpline you can call. I'm sure they know how often you should have check-ups according to NHS procedures.

Hi!
Implantable defibrillators start beeping when their battery is running low. Not sure how often, but I think it will beep every hour or couple of hours until it's replaced. Happened several times that I sat in my cardio's waiting room, and heard that a patient called in saying that his defib has started beeping. He was seen by the cardio right away, and then sent to the hospital for replacement.
Why aren't you having any follow-ups? As a defib patient you should be seen at least every 6 - 12 months, even if you have that home monitor.
