Hi everyone. This is my first post, although I read avidly and want to thank you all for your wonderful advice. I am 38 and I had my PM put in October 17th due to Sick Sinus Syndrome & Lupus attacking my heart. My lower setting is at 60 and my upper setting was changed from 130 to 140. I just can’t get going and am fatigued a lot and I have 3 children, 2 with special needs, so I need to be at my best. I also wanted to start exercising again.
I had my first visit with the Medtronic Tech yesterday and when she put the devise on my PM to read it I immediately felt uncomfortable, which she said was normal. Once it was removed, I felt somewhat better. Now I feel like someone has punched me in the PM (or heart...can’t tell which) a good handful of times. I could barely roll over in bed without placing my hand on my chest and today, (the next morning) I still am very sore.
Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal? I am the last person to call my doctor because going in requires me to take my autistic son with CP into the office and it’s very hard to get a sitter.
I do not have the home box yet, as they just set me up with it yesterday and I am awaiting it in the mail.
I would just really like some reassurance that this is normal or that someone else has felt this way.
I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test (though the won’t let me walk the treadmill) on March 7th.
I have the printout from my visit if that would be helpful to post.
Thanks so much!
I’d appreciate any input.
