My pacer is two weeks old and at the interrogation last week they changed my rate from 60-70.
BUT when I got home I noticed that every time I even MOVED a muscle my rate went to 92. Big hard ventricular beats. I got scared and thought it was atrial fib But I toughed it out for a week. I took a full strength aspirin every day instead of baby aspirin. Just in case.
I saw them again yesterday and they had enabled a Rate Response mode that was supposed to kick in when I was exercising.
Well I am not pacemaker dependent, my heart is able to rise to the occasion a bit. It was much too sensitive so they turned it off and kept my rate at 70. I am much more comfortable.
There were no arrhythmias so it was all the increased rate. I could see they were impressed with how I presented my symptoms and how I had waited a bit instead of running right in. Feels much better today.
I wish I knew more about rate response. They said it was to fix my weakness but I never complained about weakness not once OK its' fixed now.

Hi I dont know loads about this, but mine is switched on and I felt better immediately. I was struggling first thing in a morning when I wanted to keep going up and down stairs it was taking my heart a while to kick in, whereas now I have no problems.
