strep throat

Okay, I've had a few colds since getting my pm. (in fact my husband asked last time I had one when I was going to get better. I told him May.) The joys with working with kids. You'd think I'd be a bit more immune by now after 10 years but working with differnt grades each year it's togh. (this year I'm in kindergarten. A big germ factory no matter how much dissefecting we try to do) well. Friday night my throught stated getting sore. I thought, great another cold. Saturday I work up feeling awful, fever, chill and my throat was worse. (even my husband said I looked awful) Yesterday not as high a fever but everything the same. Today I took off of work and went to the doctors. I have strep throat. I don't remember ever having it before in my life. so I have to take tomorrow off too until I'm on the antibiotics 24 hours. I hate taking unplanned time off. The kid I work with is a sweetie but he takes alot of work and I like leaving a detailed schedule when I know I'm going to out. (and find my own sub if possible. Much easier that way.) Oh well. Guess I'll do some wrapping while the kids are at school.

Yucky...strep throat! I'm a middle school teacher, so I know about those germs! And I understand how you feel about taking time off and leaving others to do the work. Us teachers are such control freaks! Better in this case to just take care of yourself and get better for the holidays. I used to get strep a lot as a kid but haven't had it as an adult...can't be much fun. I know that I have to be careful when I get a sinus infection that it doesn't drain and get into my lungs...because then it likes to travel to my pericardium and give me pericarditis. Not fun at all!!

Rest up!
