Help!!
I went back to my dr yesterday for a follow up appt for what we thought was percarditis and come to find out my dr thinks that my IST is trying to come back and that I have a waundring pacemaker up in my sinus node. 2 weeks ago when I went to him I was having symtoms of chest pain, back pain, shortness of breath and palpations and he thought for sure it was pericarditis so he put me on steroids with did not help. I have went from 95% to 85% atrial pacing in just 2 weeks ( av node still 100% paced). Yesterday on the monitor he noticed that with very little movement my heart rate shot up quickly. If i'm just sitting in a chair i'm pacing at 70 if I just laugh a little it shoots up to 100 which is why he thinks the IST is trying to reappear. I had 3 ablations for IST, 2 regular and 1 epicardial which is when I ended up with my pacemaker. He also seen that there is no atrial spike when I'm up moving. I have to have a stress test done thursday to see if they can possibly find the area of the sinus node of which this might be coming from. He said the only way to permantly fix this is to knock out the the whole sinus node by doing another epicardial ablation but from what my dr said that surgery will leave me with no escape back up rhythm, right now I have one of 30. Has anyone ever been through this or heard of it??
Thanks Holly

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.

I don't have answers for you but you can search for answers on top on the right with the search prompt. I seem to remember a discussion about this that sounds similar to what you are going through.
