Hi - I wrote a week ago about shortness of breath that came on all of a sudden. I also tried to update my profile but it will not keep all the information after I submit it, so a little of my background: 60 years old, female, 3rd degree heart block diagnosed at 42 years old, 100% paced, I am on my 2nd pm (Medtronic Adapta) which is just over 8 years old. I was told 2 1/2 weeks ago that I had 1 - 10 months left before going into ERI, then 10 days later I started feeling weird and out of breath. It turned out that in those 2 weeks the pm went into ERI, went through ERI and into EOL. I am scheduled to have the new pm fitted on Thursday, and can't wait since being in EOL is not fun.
Has anyone else's pm gone down that fast?

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
guesses

Are your leads ok? I had one do that (I'm on #4) but it was because a lead needed replaced. It was not a surprise, I knew about it several years before. They had to crank the juice up to get the signal through so it drained quickly, very quickly when we got to the last few months. In Nov we thought it would be good until spring break, it went into ERI two weeks later. Or it could be like Sparrow said, it's all just guesses. I had another one that said 3-6 months for well over a year.
