gonna happen this time
a couple of years ago I had a heart failure. EF was 28%, 5 months later had recovered fot 45%, so talk of an ICD at time quit.
About a month ago, had another incident with the HF. and EF has dropped below 35%. Now after exertion, (walking fast, walking upstairs etc) I get fatigued more quickly. I also notice if I am lifting or grabbing items. above my head that I get faint sometimes. and alot of times get vertigo.
Also after the exertion, will get chest pains during the recovery. last time was getting significant PAC's in the past I got them but don't remember them hurting.
So we are talking about an ICD. now my normal cardio doc is referring me to another cardio doc so will find out more in a week or 2, but the journey is starting.

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.

Will agree with the horror stories.
From reading a few, it appears there is difficulty with side sleepers initially?? I was diagnosed with significant sleep apnea, but only have issues with that when sleeping on my back.
Suppose I had better get that cpap machine that I was prescribed, because 02 will drop below 85 if I sleep on my back.
One advantage I do have though is my Cousin works for St Jude's medical, so I am bouncing questions off him on what to expect at the surgery. and the follow ups. (his region is in Illinois)
my concern is returning to work. I am not in a Desk Job. I work as an Equipment Technician at a semiconductor plant.
Some days I had walk up to 20 miles depending on how bad the day was, (haven't was just getting back to that level when I had the recent complications with heart failure.
Looking on the website for the new cardio doc, he is a Electrophysiologist.
Also being single is there anything I should prepare in advance.
