loop uncoiled?

Hey,

Well it's been about 3 months since I had my first ICD implanted and i recently did an x-ray which showed the loop of the lead had uncoiled and needed another minor surgery to re-coil it. The Dr said that it wasn't urgent but it just needed to be done quite soon because it would be harder to do when the tissue had fully healed.... blah blah blah...

anyway the point is I think i'm going to have it in maybe a month or 2 (dr is still unsure) and was wondering how long i would have to stay in hospital?? The Dr said that the procedure was quite minor and not as much anaesthetic was going to be needed.. so i was wondering if anyone has had this or knows and if so how long would i have to stay?( i'm presuming just a night) also how long would I have to take of school if any time? Because for the ICD i had to take at least a week of school after the surgey but i doubt i will have to take much time off for this, still wondering because i have my final GCSE exams coming up :(

Thanks for reading any answers appreciated (:

Lead Repair

Owls,

I don't see why this should be a more complicated procedure than when the lead was put in initially along with your PM. If its not I can't see why it should take more than 45 min to an hour and will be done under local anesthetic.

Good luck,

Smitty

Thanks anyway (:
