getting a new pacer this week

It's been 9 years but it's time for a new battery. Have any of you recently had a new pacer and noticed a difference in the technology and how you feel. I have a Medtronics.
Also I'm very nervous, I must have had too much time to think about this. I don't want to be awake during this...The doc told me that I'll have remote monitoring capabilities but I don't have a land line phone, what are my options?

I'm on my 4th and have never felt a difference between any of them. The first was big, the second was smaller, the third they went with a big one again because it would last longer. I don't even know about this one, it was done quickly and I didn't see it first. But I've always kept the same settings and felt the same after. Someone who uses rate response a lot would possibly feel a difference, they've made a lot of advances in how sophisticated RR is in the last years.

If the first placement was a 10, replacements are a 2-3, imo. Super easy! You already have a pocket, you already have leads, those are the hard parts. All they do is open it up, take the old one out, put the new one in and turn it on.

tell them you're nervous! They can give you good stuff so you're relaxed.

thanks

My first one was originally estimated to last 5 but I got almost 8 out of it

My second one was estimated 10 but only lasted 5, a lead went bad and shortened the life

My third one, I chose to keep the bad lead because replacing batteries is easier than replacing leads, imo, so I went into it knowing it would be short. But then the lead got worse and it only lasted a little over 2

My current one is 3 yrs old, est to last another 5-6 years. And I got the lead replaced so hopefully nothing will shorten this one.

I was really nervous before my first replacement but it was SO easy! Now I don't think anything of it.
