Pacemaker replacement

I have an appointment this week to discuss pacemaker replacement.,I have only one lead and have had it for 7 years. I assume it is in and out the same day. Is there anything I should ask my doctor when I see hime Tuesday

Thank you

I'm on #4. As long as the lead is in good shape, there's nothing to it! If I get an early appointment, I'm home fixing my own lunch. They go in the same place and it's all scar tissue. Most of the restrictions the first time were for the leads so this time it's just a matter of the incision healing.

I would ask if they are staying with the same manufacturer, ask if there are any new features on the new one that affect you, and confirm that they will start the new one with your CURRENT settings, not the factory standards. That's usually a no-brainer but every once in a while someone has to go back for tweaks to get it back where the old one was.

good luck!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
