Hi All: Nice to have found this web site. My heart issues begain in 2000 with two heart attacks, one causing extensive damage to my heart and one resolved with a stent. My echos a while after the heart attacks was about 45EF. Last October my EP did another echo and found my EF had dropped to between 10-15. I was in shock. Then in late December I wound up in the local hospital for an ecoli infected gall bladder where they did a cath which showed I had my last good artery blocked at 85-90%. At this point my EP recommended I go to the University of WA heart clinc.
At UW, they did all their tests and came up with 17EF but I appeared fairly strong. They put in my PM/ICD on 4/22 which all went well. I was a little tender around the insertion site for a week or so and then fine.
As time as gone on I have developed an ache on what I belive to be the right side of my heart when I am lying on my right side, with some pain transference to my lower jaw and the back of my throat. Heavy breathing and coughing also triggers the ache.
I am shorter of breath now than I was before the implant and have less energy. I am seeing my doc 5/29.
Has anyone developed this ache in the heart area similar to this?
Doug

Give your Doc a call

It may just be an adjustment needed, but better to be safe than sorry. It's still early in recovery for you, but I would call.
Don't wait until 5/29. Could be some fluid build up, easier to fix sooner than later without a hospital stay.
Keep us posted and feel better.
