8 more days
Morning All,
I'm counting down. It will be 8 more days until I get my ICD implated. Still a bit anxious....just want to get it done and over with so that I don't have to think about it anymore. I'm trying to prepare myself...I'm not sure how I will put on a blouse or top since you can't lift your arm high enough. I suppose I'll figure it out. I must say that I'm so thankful to have found this site. It has given me a lot reassurance, courage and strength. Thanks to you all.

Almost there

You sound so much better already! Before you know it, you will be on the mend.
Another tip: put your PM side arm in first, then over your head, then the other arm. It works if you wear a loose top.

Left arm limitation for females

I found I needed a bra all the time and learned to put it on around my waist with closure in front, then pull it up and put the left arm in first.
I also learned to step into the tank top, pull it up and slip my arms in.
Blouses

Worked best for me.
I went braless for a little while but my blouses were not fitted so it was ok. Someone said it earlier but pm arm in first then you can manipulate the blouse on.
For me ... I didn't find this site until after my pm so while I figured out the blouse bit I hadn't ironed anything.
thanks

sports bra's

sports bras too, theyre stretchy, and you can step into them too,and the strap can be more forgiving too,and yes,the tanks work too.
If you can go "free",do it! But,if you must,be comfortable for sure.Soft and flexible are key.Just be smart with it,make things easy so you are comfortable,it wont be forever.I agree with the button downs and step into tops, very smart.
I counted WRONG!!!

OMG! I'm such a looser! I counted wrong - it was more than 8 days when I made the original post! So, its actually 8 more days as of today! Geesh! This is my last week at work. I will be off on Monday July 15th for my daugthers birthday then the very next day is my ICD surgery. I fee as though time is going by so slow! I have a question about home monitoring. Do any of you have home monitoring capabilities? How is this equipment paid for? Does health insurance cover it or do you have to pay for it? Thanks!!!

I mostly wear button up tops after, layer a tank so I can skip the bra until I can contort to get it on again.
