grandchildren

i am leaving nov. ist to fly to calgary to see my grandchildren. jessica is eleven and michael is eight. he plays house league hockey and his favourite team is detroit even tho he occasionally gets to go to the flames games. lol he has a detroit jersey and wears it to school all the time. jessica has started figure skating. she just loves it so that is what is most important. i thoroughly enjoy spending time with them. their parents are going on a holiday so i will have the pleasure of having them all to myself. we have a riot and of course what goes on while the parents are away stays just with us. we never admit to anything that might incriminate us. when i return to ontario on the 12th i am going to be having my first cataract surgery a few days later. i can't seem to shake those doctors . oh well i guess it is all part and parcel of growing older in retirement. so that is my most recent news. take care everyone and i will try to get on the site form calgary if i have time. lol lol love, jessie

Hi Maureen,
How I envy you that your grands are still young enough to play with grandma. Mine are all grown which does have other advantages. How I loved those years when they were the ages of your Michael and Jessica! Have a wonderful time, my friend, and tell us all about it when you are back home. Bless you,
Sharon

I hope you have a wonderful visit. My two grandkids (age one and age three) are the joy of my life. I love that they live nearby.
And since we live in the Detroit area, we are all great Red Wings fans. I think Michael sounds like a very smart young man!

Here's to a safe trip and a successful eye surgery.

Hi Jessie,

Hope you have a very enjoyable trip, but don't spoil the grandkids too much. Just remember your kids will have to live with them after you leave. Just kidding.

However, we will expect a full report when you return.

Have fun!!!

Jessie-

Your trip sounds like it will be so much fun! I want to go! It sounds like you are quite a cool grandma, too. Too bad Michael likes Detroit, though. ha ha :) And I wish I had Jessica's skating ability. I pride myself on being able to go around the rink once without falling--and it's not a pretty skate around the rink either!

I'll pray for your swift recovery and no problems with the cataract surgery. My mom is developing cataracts and may need some surgery. Let us know how it all goes!

We'll miss you wihle you're away playing!
