Can't get anyone to listen

Hello,
This is HK, I wrote about my car crash and you all were so nice to respond and wisely advise me to have my PM checked. Since my car crash happened while I was working all related health issues must be covered by worker's comp which, in my case, is run by the hospital I work for. I cannot get them to understand the urgency of this. Now, three weeks post accident my PM has still not been checked. I have been documenting my symptoms and here is the list: Burning at top of PM, Wires
Rapid heartbeat on minor exertion
Heartbeat that feels unusual for me (skipped beat, fluttering, too fast/slow)
Pain at PM site/pain in heart at PM site
PM movement causes pain in chest
Light dizziness/ lightheaded
Unusual SOB or tiredness
Shortness of breath/not breathing for extended periods then OOB suddenly
Pressure/Pulling at times

I spoke with my own cardiologist yesterday and he said i should go to ER right away but the worker's comp people say no. I am trying to work this out but I am not getting far fast enough. I am afraid something will happen before I can get this checked out. I will be speaking with Human Resources at my employer today and maybe they will be able to help. If your cardio said to go to ER, just go. You won't be able to sort out the rest if you're incapacitated by this and you certainly don't want your survivors to have to sort it out if it proves to be more serious than anyone thinks.

Hi,

I am a recent PM participant (August 2013). The symptoms you are experiencing which are most of the reasons of why I now have a pacemaker warrant a definite visit to the ER. Please go.

Pound sand. Go to the ER if you want to....

But my question is, did your cardiologist offer to check the device? Just go show up at his office if you don't want to go to the ER and tell them your not leaving until it's checked. They can call the pacer rep to come in and do it, they probably aren't doing anything anyways =)

You do not need anyone's permission to go to the ER, esp if your cardio said to, just go! Get treated, sort out the rest later.

The answer to your question is NO! The Cardio's nurse told me I cannot see the Cardio if it is worker's comp!!! Bad Medicine if you ask me. In the end, I finally convinced my employer to allow me to have my PM checked in the ER. I went on 10/8 and had the PM interrogated and also had a CTA (CT Arteriogram) to visualize the leads. All is working well. I have a bad bruise all around the PM from the seat belt but all things being equal, I now know I am or will be fine. Many thanks for your concern and your post.
