Hi,
I have had this particular pacemaker for five years and I went to get the battery tested this past February, and the dr said I had about a year left. He also informed that I am now 100% dependant. I have had a pacemaker since 2000. I am 24 years old, this is my third one and I have never been 100% until now. The past couple of days I have felt extremely tired, out of breath with no energy. My hr all day has been constant at 60 bpm (which I believe is the low for me) when my normal bpm is around 85. I have never spent so long with this low of an hr and am concerned that I may be EOL earlier than expected. My next appointment is not scheduled until November, but I really do not want to wait if this can be serious. I've never had anything like this happen before with my other devices. Any help or response is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you everyone. I went to the E.R. and found someone to check my device. The battery is fine, but apparently my pacemaker switched modes from bipolar to unipolar so I was only pacing at my threshold of 50. They think one of my leads is malfunctioning which caused the switch so I have to do a follow up on that. But right now I am back to feeling normal.
oh yeah

Sure sounds like EOL! Give them a call. Are your leads due for replacement? Sometimes an older lead can drain the battery faster than expected. That happened to me with my last replacement (#4). I went in Nov and we thought I had about 6 months left. When I went again in Jan, I had been ERI (what it does before EOL) for over a month.

As AngrySparrow says, what are you waiting for? Your reported symptoms are serious and if you walked into an ER, people would jump to attention.
