2 Year PM Update

Hello all my Pm friends,

well I thought I would give all of you a break from all my questions and complaining lol...
Its been two years , so here is the rundown of the good bad and ugly...
Good:
I am alive , My BP finally went to fairly normal 98/60 , of course my HR is 60, so I am not sleeping like the dead anymore. Less trips to ER..Sort of working out , Get a kick out of everyone staring at my Flying saucer on my chest, Named her Mitilda...

Bad: Are all the Pacemaker adjusters in the DR office brain Dead? Still trying to get a correct adjustment after two years.

Sleeping: Not happening , before I actually slept like the dead, Now I wake up Like a train engine at 2am, 5 am , could actually run a mile each time... Hence I have learned the art of a two hour nap each day from 2 to 4 pm...

Exercise : Can workout but no way I have the same stamina , takes forever to get warmed up , then have to watch HR not to get over 140 the trip zone ... after workout need a nap.. not before

Now having AV episodes about 340 in 3 to 4 months short , 10 to 20 sec each .... never had this before and can not get a answer from Dr's .. even as Its on my print out which I demand in full each check....

SVT : 6 in two months at 180 to 240 .. they are not concerned I cant breathe so I guess I will just drop dead one day.

And was rushed to the hospital they thought I have a clogged artery only to find it was a collapsed vein , so a new addition to my electrical Issues " Printz Mingles" small vessel disease???? really ... did not have this before... WTF...

Dr that shoved my PM in as usual says " everything if fine" yea right , Gained 10 pounds... could care less , I just want to sleep again ... that is the main thing .. no good sleep and the rest of like seems out of mix....

Definitely stamina is not the same , Yes I know I am older but I am a mover and shaker ..
so
I need to find a GOOD PM TECH IN ST PETERSBURG FLA OR TAMPA??? ANYONE

Hope all of you are well...

PS I was watching the new show Strong , and one of the trainers has a PM and was doing all sorts of stuff . I wrote to him hoping I would be a answer about Pm settings. Never herd back of course

XXOO to all of you
Cynthia

WTF

There was a lot more bad than there was good stuff? Although it sure sounds like you have a good spirit. You should live a long time!
Just an idea.............I was unable to sleep after my Pm implant. The lower setting was 60 bpm and my doc suggested that we lower it to 50 bpm. It worked great as I started sleeping better almost immediately. Apparently my body was accustomed to the lower rate. I have maintained that lower rate now for 30 years. The PM Tech has often suggested that we increase it to 60 again, but I refuse to allow it.

I understand how a poor nights sleep can just ruin your day. So I understand what you are suffering with.

I wish you the best.

Have you checked for ....

Have you had a check for sleep apnea? The being wide awake and not being able to get back to sleep may be and indication of OSA. If you haven't asked, you might want to .
Glad everything else is going somewhat OK.

Well....

this doesn't leave me warm and fuzzy as I'll probably be getting one shortly. I just want to be active again without feeling like I'm 80.

Sorry didn't mean ...

To make you feel down hearted just that you are not alone with how you feel and the sheer frustration of it all.
Push to get a treadmill test and keep going on it till you are symptomatic there are lots of adjustments the can be done which can make a Hugh difference.
I just keep getting told I'm unusual I then replie that I feel cr@p and want my life back.
Yes the ablation is radical but it hopefully is the best for me.
You may even find a combination of drugs and adjustment are best for you.
I have cried over just about every body but have kept chipping away if you don't turn into a squeaky gate then "they" will think all is ok.
Keep in touch

Know just how you feel

I'm suffering with almost continuous Pacemaker tachycardia it only goes at about 110 p/m but it is enough to feel totally rubbish- hence going for the ablation.
But like you I can't sleep , as soon as I lie down I get a real strong pulse thumping through my body and pulsatil tinitis, knackered all the time. Mentioned this at my consultation this week and all he said was they might get me done sooner than 3 months. In the mean time we just have to get on with it. So difficult when you work.
Keep at the and learn what you can so you have a better argument
Good luck

You know you're wired when...

You have a T-shirt that reads “Wired4Sound”.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
