Traveling after ICD Surgery

I am having ICD Surgery next week, I live 8hrs away from the hospital, just wondering if one can fly after surgery or do I have to Greyhound it? Oh by the way I just love this site, so much info.

I had a pm implanted in august and I know ICD are much bigger. The bumps will not be your friend right after you get that put in. I am 25 and had some complications after I had mine put in and I was very sore. I left the hospital after three days and remember the car ride home being very painful. Make sure you fill your pain medications and bring it with you. Take the plane and just make sure you really protect your arm from those around you.
