Pulsing
Hi all
When lying down i can feel every pulse of the unit.
It is as if the lead touches my stomach. The only way to get to sleep is on my left side. Is this normal and has anyone else experienced the same?

I have the same problem and I guess one side is better for me than the other. Sometimes it gets loud. In the morning I have back aches, and now I am trying to work on that. I had my first pacemaker put in Nov 23.last year and this is all new to me.
I guess during the day we are too busy or doing too many things. If you drink coffee maybe switch to decaf after 12:00pm. I do not have to mention "stress" can also be a factor. I have a lot of stress and I am trying to
learn to relax. If you can manage, take a 30 minute nap. another thing that helps with internal noises is that I sleep with a fan, setting on low, 365 days a year. That really helps me fall sleep. The best thing is to call the doctors office and if you can talk to him or her over the phone see if they can give you a good answer, if not then go see them again. I hope this helps!!
Take care of yourself, and then you take care of others.
Gigi.
pulsing

I had some pulsing as well, it could be the upper chambers of your heart are beating too fast. The beta blocker dosage may need to be upped to help that. They upped mine I have much less problems with it now. My biggest problem is anxiety, which I always thought was a result of imagined fears, when in fact, maybe my body was trying to alert me to heart issues. I always did extreme workouts, and that seemed to be a part of me trying to up my heart rate. A wild guess there. But, I am doing much better now. Getting back on the treadmill and don't feel the constant fear I use to feel. Although I'm still afraid of driving; it's not as bad.
Good luck, `Namaste`

I made a discovery last night and may only be luck or just me. Since PM installed, 5 months now, I haven't been able to sleep on left side due to feeling my heart beat, loudly it seemed. Last night I slept on two pillows, angled about 20 degrees and got to sleep on the left side. Did not notice the heart beating. Will try it again tonight...
The best to all, Nita

Thanks to all. Will get the voltage checked. Maybe a little adjustment could make it better.
Have a nice day!

You know you're wired when...
You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

You didn't say when you got your PM. If it's less than 90 days they may still have the voltage turned up on the PM and you're getting a stronger heart beat because of the increased voltage.
I was having a hard time sleeping for the first 90 days because the voltage was up. So each heartbeat was a real thump. I'd especially feel it at night.
At 90 days they dropped the voltage. (Don't worry, if your heart requires 1 volt to kick it off they'll reduce the voltage on the PM to 1.5 or 1.75. (These are example numbers not actual.)) I was sitting in the chair and watched the tech drop the voltage. Didn't feel a thing and the heart kept on beating just the same. Once they reduced the voltage, I didn't get the "thump" at night and started sleeping better.
Hopefully the same for you. You can always call cardio/EP or PM tech people and ask if they're going to do that.
Hope things get better.
