Set up merlin@home transmitter help please
Hi everyone, I'm new to this and hoping someone out there can help me with advice please. My father has been given the Merlin @home transmitter (EX1150) and i have been trying to set it up but without luck yet. My parents don't have a landline and the device came along with the usb connector, now i take it that the data which is transmitted will require an internet connection of some kind for the transmitter to work? I am uk based and i cannot find any technical support numbers for uk and my parents do not have internet, so if someone can just tell me if its required then i can move forward, many thanks in advance for any help, i appreciate any info.

Hi there, thank you for your help, that's what I was thinking too but just wanted to double check. I found it odd that it was sent home with my father even though he told them he had no landline at home. Thanks again you've been very helpful.

I consider my device to be so reliable, that I never think about a failure.

What a pain in the neck.
I do NOT have a Merlin; my device is a Carelink from Medtronics. However, without a landline OR interenet connection, it won't work.
My Carelink sends the information like a fax via a modem.
Another option is to take it to a hotel or someplace with a corded phone or perhaps a public library where they would have internet and you can plug it in to one of their computers.
Good Luck. I hope it all works out.
