I'm almost 8 weeks with my first PM. When I walk over 1/4 mile I'm exhausted, have chest dis comfort and wonder If I should see the Dr. that doesn't return calls. What happens to the wires if a stent is needed?

Stents

Hi!
The pacemaker leads run through veins only. If you need a stent because of coronary artery disease, it is placed in an artery, so the pacemaker leads are no issue at all.

You know you're wired when...
You always run anti-virus software.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
Stent can be installed

Hey, Kawasherpa, I had a pacemaker put in and during that process, they saw a 25% blockage in an artery. They waited until they figured the pacemaker surgery healed well enough to put in the stent. Never had a problem. However, I don't know if they sent the stent through the same vein that held the wires.
