Good Evening....I went to the ER yesterday because I was experiencing pain in taking a breath....They took a chest xray and found that my lead is frayed....I only have one lead...I have to make an appointment with the EP doctor.....What is the next step?? Meaning what are they going to do about this lead?

If it is frayed, it needs replaced. If you only have one, you should have plenty of room in the vein so they'll probably just give you a new one, add it to what is already there. If they leave the old one, they'll cap it off. That's what they did when one of mine broke. It can also be removed but that is a more involved surgery. I chose to leave the old one in. I figure when I run out of room, we can take them all out and start fresh.
