Hi there group. I am 6 months post op pacemaker. Emergently placed pm for 2nd degree heartblock at 43.
Just had a cardiac MRI looking for anything wrong with my heart .. Just as recommended by my EP since I never had a symptom prior to my episode while driving and almost passing out.
Question... They reset my pm after my MRI, but I guess I'm nervous that it wasn't reset. I had a small episode yesterday where I thought I was going to pass out and got anxious. Of course I was fine, but has anyone had this happen?
Can I call and have my remote device send to my EP just to make sure the rep reset my pm correctly after my MRI?

when in doubt, call

It's entirely possible a setting was changed when they put it back to normal after the mri. Can't hurt to ask!

Thank you. I feel much better today but will call and make sure. I did the remote monitoring today with my Medtronic pm but not sure what they do with it if they weren't expecting me to transmit
Thanks

I live in the UK and have been told under no circumstances to have an MRI although I need one performed on my brain. I am confused when you mention an MRI. What exactly happens as I thought metal and MRIs do not go together.

Once upon a time, mri's were impossible for all pacer patients. Now, they make mri-comptible pacemakers, and a small but growing number of hospitals are safely doing mri's on patients with regular pacers. Exciting!

If your symptoms persist, I would request an appointment with your doctor. A nurse friend told me to always request a hard copy of the report when I go into the doctor's office for a follow up appointment and interrogation of my PM. Then, that report can be used in an emergency to show medical personnel what the most recent PM settings were.
