I am new to this club!
I had Biotronik pacemaker installed in Jan of 2014. I feel much better with more energy. My wife even said she could not keep up with me. I am only 50 years old. How amazing the technology works with the monitor I have in my bedroom...I got a phone call from DR office telling me I needed to go for chest xray as they suspected the wires got loose from PM. Got the news from doctor yesterday that I need to have a surgery to replace the wires in few weeks. I have not felt lousy yet. How could that happen? I even asked DR if it could be from the Cat scan I had twice this year that they stretched my arms/shoulders way up to scan my kidney ( 1/4 of cancerous kidney was removed last summer & is now cancer free). DR did not think so but I believe it could be the result as I researched somewhere that wires could break due to stretching or bending. My DR keeps telling me there should be no restrictions other than near the cellphone, generator, things like that. Anyone experience like this?

Loose lead

I had my PM implanted 1/2016. Today I went to my cardio doc and Biotronix rep did several tests. Long story short, the upper lead has loosened and is only conducting 33% of the time, the lower lead is apparently good, with conduction 99% of the time.
Since my PM was set at 80 bpm, this visit was to reprogram to 60 bpm. Instead, I find out I*'m going to go through the procedure again.
How common is this? I have had my PM just 2 months.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.

After two years, no amount of bending and stretching is going to pull a lead loose. They are meant to move with us, and after all this time they are held securely in place with scar tissue.
I would talk to your dr and find out more specifically what happened. Did it come loose at the device, or in the heart, or is it in tight but has become compromised. I had the latter happen, but it was 15 years old at the time so not unexpected. It was working so we let it alone until the next replacement several years later.
If you feel good, odds are you are pacing normally. If you are pacing, I would try to leave well enough alone, at least until the battery needs replaced.
