Hi all I,m currently on my 2nd pacemaker I have 2nd degree heart block- weinkibac I really don't know much about my pacemaker or even my first one ð I,m due for check up in Aug, my current one has a battery life of 10yrs, so that makes my next replacement pacer is due by Feb 2017 which is ages away, going by my last one which had a battery life of 7yrs, I lasted 6 1/2yrs. So roughly going by that, it would make my new replacement will take place from Sept 2015. I,m starting to feel my pacemaker kick in (I pace on demand) its mainly at night when I resting, I,m starting to wake up at night baking hot but my is skin cold wet and clammy, I,m becoming more tied and to do things is more difficult and breathless (I know I ain't fi) so that maybe playing a part. I live in the UK so what information should I be able to get answers to when I go to pacemaker clinic? I usually get sir down then wired up they don't talk to me, once done I get your good to go for another year or pacemaker is working fine. Feel like I been left to it, almost like you've a pacer get on with it ðÂÂÂ

Hi,I am in UK I have had my PM for almost 2 years I have had 2 check ups and to be honest I feel I am only there for them to do their checks and then go ........ I raised my worries with them at my last check up and they did not take these any further and told me the PM was working fine I still don't feel well but I can't seem to get any one in the medical field interested !
You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!

It's awful that we are treated like guineapigs. I would say speak with your g.p and raise your concerns with him he should then be able to refer you back to your hospital doctor. I had to do that myself a few years ago I now take tablets for simple terms acid that is upsetting my heart, this latest episode is something different.
