crt-d

A quick question - I had a crt-d put in 8 days ago and my left arm has felt achy each day. In the last 3 days though my left arm changes colour to a dusky red colour as well as ache. Will this likely settle down or should I report it to the pacing clinic first thing next week?

Hard to tell what is going on, but it appears that there is some disturbance in blood flow to that arm.

It could become critical.

Go to the ER.

Thank you for response. I feel better just having told someone about it.
Left arm has less colour change today and less ache but i will contact the pacing clinic first thing in the morning (Monday).

Hi, thank you for the kind words. The bloodflow problem to my arm receded day by day back to normal and is fine now. The twitching is from the phrenic nerve being affected by the 3rd lead. The medtronic techician altered the vector and the twitching has stopped. Only problem now is nausea when sitting in my office chair.....its like an anti-work device. Pacing clinic will check again in one month and hopefully all will be good by then. Cheers leanne
