Hi everyone, I have just had my 6 week check at 8 weeks and have been told that one of my leads have been displaced and they may have to operate and correct it. I feel like I have been through a lot and I'm worried again as I am a natural worrier. Can anyone set my mind at rest and tell me what this involves. Many thanks to all. Karen

No big deal

With my first pacemaker one of the leads went dead. They went back in and replaced the lead. You already know the procedure. Too bad they have to do the replacement but you'll be up and at it in no time. Best wishes.
Thank you

Thank you David and doublehorn I feel a lot better for having read your messages. Very kind of you both and this site has been a real source of comfort to me. Just waiting for my appointment. Best wishes to you both.

Lead correction

I had this done and was scared sh--less myself. I was so relieved, because I thought I was through it all and then, BAM..............they tell me the lead moved. So I understand.
You can rest easy though, because it was a piece of cake to move it. There is almost no risk. They just go in the same place and relocate the lead. Takes only a short time. Then they button you back up. They may want to keep you overnight just to check it again in the morning, but maybe not.
Shame is, you'll just have to go through the healing process again. That may not be so bad if you have someone to take care of you. Not that you'll need it, but you can milk it for all it is worth! If you live alone........well, too bad.
Wish you the very best!
