Thumped and stressed
Hello I am 40 years old and had my ICD for 6 years. I was diagnosed with VT at 34. I am a very active individual and tend to push myself. But in all my 6 years i do not recall my ICD ever thumping my heart. Quick info, last Saturday I woke up to a normal day. I started my day off painting my living room and carried on till about 5 that afternoon. Took a shower and when I got out was just toweling off and got very light headed and felt like I was going to pass out and that is when I felt 3 thumps to my heart. I sat down and and it did it again has this every happened to anyone else. Never been shocked and I go tomorrow to have my ICD checked. Just a little scared and stressed.

My ICD did give me a burst bc I did go into VT. They were shocked I felt the burst but they said the machine did it's job and that is was awesome to see that it worked so well. As for future he increased my sotalol and he wants me to have a stress test to clearify that nothing has changed in my heart. My ultrasound of my heart was great and my EKG was great. But man it is stressful. I do not look forward to ever being shocked :)

I am also very thankful of these machines. It is amazing what they can do. Have a great weekend!!

I'm not looking forward to it either Turkey. The burst paces you out of the VT before a shock would be administered. Amazing little computers!
I'm glad it worked out well for you.

I am no expert, but I believe that without the defibrillator that I have, I would be dead.
Maybe PVC's

My heart has been thumping a lot the last few months. When I looked at my printout the PVC's have increased so I guess that is what I'm feeling.
I have never been shocked either.
What did your Doc say?
