Hi! I am new to the club . I meet with my surgeon this week to discuss the changing of my first battery. I'm a little nervous. Unlike me most of you that I have research, my pacer is gastric because I have gastroparisis. I've had a lot of abdominal surgery and I am concerned about this one because I don't know what to expect. I appreciate your insight. Thank you!

Glad you are meeting with your surgeon next week. Please make a list of specific information/questions you would like to be covered in the meeting and be sure to take the list along. Battery changes themselves are not a big deal. The wait is always the worst part. Welcome! ! !

Instead of the heart, in your case it is attached to the wall of the stomach for gastric stimulation. It doesn't matter where your PM is located or what condition it is treating. It is a very quick and simple surgery. A small incision, removal of the old generator and insertion of the new one. You should be back home within about 4 hours. Not to worry.
Piece of cake........................
