I just came from my drs appointment. Had my pacer evaluated. On the screen it shows my pacer as a zephyr do dr model 5330r but there doesn't seem to be that model number in the zephyr series. Only in the affinity series. So I have again been experiencing dizziness and periods when my pulse drops below my base rate. How do I know that they are evaluating the correct pacer. Confused? If anyone can answer it would be nice to understand this...they say it is functioning properly and it should not allow my pulse to go below 60, but it does into the 50's. Even when I am working

You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.

It's reading what your pacer is doing, doesn't matter what name it puts on the report. If you want your exact name, check the id card you should have received a few weeks after implant.
If you've been having dizziness, write down the times so they can check the report to see what the pacer was doing at the time. Many things cause dizziness so this is a question for the doctor, not the pacer tech.
How are you getting the count in the 50's? If using a machine, they are notoriously inaccurate for us so always count manually. It can still count low- counting error, smaller beats between the stronger beats that we don't feel when we count. Also, it's set to not let you go more than a second without a beat, it's not actually set at 60 bpm. So, if you go a second without a beat, it paces. Over the course of a minute, that may not work out to exactly 60. As long as it's close, it's perfectly normal.
