Swimming?

Hello, I will be getting a pm soon and was wondering if anyone could comment on what swimming laps is like with the pm implant.
Thanks.

tell them

Once you heal, you should be fine swimming as much as you want. Just to be sure, tho, tell them in advance. They may want to put it a little deeper than the usual placement. Many who are active prefer this, it's more out of the way.

Thank you

Thanks. Good to know this. If it's implanted deeper, I assume the healing time will be longer.

Make sure the leads are placed in the cephalic vein

I was told no swimming or lifting my arms above my shoulders for 8 wks after implant because they wanted everthing to fully heal first. After that I have had no problems swimming.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
