Hi, jystbwondering if anyone has experienced anything simaler or could offer some much needed advice....... I had replacement wires and battery on right side 3 months ago, my journey has been far from simple, these are my 3rd set of wires, my second only lasted 10 months, Dr's seem to think the active wires didn't suit my heart and so had them replaced with passive wires. I've also had a wire perforate my heart which was taken out and replaced immediately. I originally had a pacemaker for 2nd degree heart block from an ablation that went wrong for svt syndrome. Since I've had these new wires my heart seems to click into a fast rhythm of I bend over or pull my right arm across my body or even shout to loud!! Seems to e very positional, desperate to know if anyone else had experienced this and if so what it turned out to be. My voltage has been left very high at 4 volts although the ventricular lead is only using 0.4 volts to pace the heart, I was wondering if the high voltage is irritating the heart in certain positions and sending it into a funny Rythum?? Any help would be so greatfully received.

You know you're wired when...
You can hear your heartbeat in your cell phone.

Active/Passive

When you speak about Active and Passive wires, what that really references is the style of connector on the end contacting the heart wall. Active are helix (screw) type and passive are tynes (anchor) style. What I can't envision in my mind is why they would think active were unsuitable unless the heart wall is so thin they really can't get a good grip.
With the passive wires, it is feasible that you would indeed experience a change in pacing sand other sensations when bending over and other movement. The should be able to tell if there is a disconnect with impedence readings, but even soby moving you could change the contact points. Again this stuff should show up in readouts. Make sure you document when incidents occur and ask specifically.
Good luck and let everyone know what you find out
